'I started making this figurative, calligraphic floral painting in 2010 and I used to name it as 'Realm'. I was once lost looking into her eyes,' the artist recalled.
Fuen made this figurative, calligraphic floral painting to depict the images in deficit. It is the epitome of the complex visual conditions of the artist's late grandmother’s eyes. The narrative suggested a series of fragmented, distorted, molecular images derived from visual deficiencies. The artist wishes to channel the deficient images to aesthetical direction and to encourage a respect, a bravery and a confession of the imperfect conditions of human eyes, such as aging, obscurity and impermanence are innovatory artistic direction for figurative arts.
